At La Rueda you have the possibility of doing non-paid internships - curricular or extracurricular - in one of our kindergartens.
To have a general impression of our working method, at La Rueda we believe in solidarity, brotherhood and creativity. We highlight Dalai Lama's words, when he assured that affection and love mark our lives. We cannot agree more, and therefore we need people who are willing to give, share and support. The pedagogues in our kindergartens are usually fluent in Spanish and German, since it is a great advantage when communicating with children. Understanding more than one language is important, although not mandatory. In any case, we try to form a varied team and there is always room for learning. Most of our kindergroups are vegetarians, and the food is all organic. What is this about? At La Rueda we believe in sustainability and care for the environment, as well as healthy eating. Being a vegetarian is not a requirement, but this and other details conform our identity. At La Rueda, the pedagogical proposal must be open and flexible enough, leaving room for spontaneity and improvisation. The child should not be limited, but quite the opposite: triggered to explore, to discover, free to imagine. We do not care about the result, but the process. The practitioner's profile
People interested in collaborating with us have to take into account that there is a lot of movement in a kindergarten. The pedagogues alternate the most educational tasks with the most mundane: you have to pick up toys, clean the rooms and wash the dishes too! Following the rhythm of the little ones requires a lot of energy, but nothing that cannot be achieved with the exact dose of motivation and affection: they give you as much as they receive, often unexpectedly.
We give you two examples of people who were with us in practice:

The intership tasks
The interns at La Rueda accompany and assist the pedagogues in their day-to-day work as assistants. As they gain confidence and experience, they can begin to take on more pedagogical tasks. Thus, the members of the pedagogical team: - They organise a space where singing, dancing, creating and exploring take place. The ideal pedagogue prepares and prepares the body for play, movement and spontaneity. - They provide an open and flexible pedagogical approach, allowing for spontaneity and improvisation. - They manage to use recycled, homemade and natural materials to produce magic: to surprise and amaze us. - They do not attach importance to performance or the effectiveness of a final result, but only to the fact of finishing it. - Pedagogues develop their potential here with genuine vitality and empathy: marvelling at each other. They work well in a team. - From the didactic point of view, they think and promote a non-behaviourist method. - They see teaching as a way of learning. - They are equally committed to our educational approach and educational quality at work. - They are moved by and identify with our pedagogical concept and approach, as well as our work philosophy.
Erasmus+ internships with children in Vienna
Do you live in Spain or another EU country and would like to do your internship in Vienna? With the Erasmus+ scholarship, you can do your internship with us and enjoy at least 2 months of learning in a multilingual and intercultural environment.
Internship BAFEP or BAKIP
The Bildungsanstalten für Elementarpädagogik provide a complete general training as a teacher and require an internship in a kindergarten under the supervision of a person with the same training.

Application process for internships
At La Rueda we can have up to 5 trainees in our gardens in districts 2 and 20. The steps to follow are:

Decide what type of internship you want to do (curricular or extracurricular), on what dates and find out what agreement you need.

Send us your CV and a personalised letter of motivation: studies? experience with children? German proficiency?

We will contact you for a video call or a face-to-face meeting.

If everything goes well, we will start to process your documents. To start with, your Learning Agreement.

Internship at the Ausbildung Kindergruppenbetreuerin
The training as a kindergarten instructor qualifies you to work in kindergruppen. You can train at institutions such as the BildungsAkademie or Jobs mit Hertz, among others.
Opinions of an internship with children in La Rueda
Sarah started her internship in November 2019. She was training to become a nursery school teacher (Ausbildung Kindergruppenbetreuerin) and wanted to do join our youngest group.
She wanted to stay at the end of her internship and has been with us for more than 4 years now.
Amaya contacted us from La Rioja, Spain, for an internship with the Erasmus+ scholarship in Vienna. Her studies were in Criminology and the internship was in line with her pedagogical subjects.
Although the funding covered 3 months, she decided to extend her stay and spend half a year with us.
